Pack 33 Beach Bonfire: Wed Nov 8 2023

Pack 33 has the longest tradition of beach bonfires of Marin Cub Scout Packs. Join us for a beach cleanup and sunset beach bonfire pack meeting at Muir Beach!. Bring a marshmallow roasting stick and maybe a thermos of hot chocolate, a trashbag and some work gloves. This event is open to the whole family. Dinner is not provided, so think about bringing a snack or a picnic dinner if you like. You will need a flashlight for the walk back to your car. We'll provide the marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate, and the bonfire! (plans may be modified if it's a Spare the Air day)

Check the map below for directions. From the gas station at Tam Junction head west on Shoreline highway, drive time is about 15 minutes. Make a left just before the Pelican Inn, and follow signs to the beach. You will cross a 1 lane bridge. Park at the Muir Beach lot (bathrooms and water are available at the lot). Then walk across the "bridge", making a right turn at the far end. From the lot to the beach it is about a 4-5 minute walk.

Dress in layers as weather could range from foggy and cold to clear and warm. Rain but not fog will cancel. Those who wish can hike along the beach or inland on area trails, the old trail south along the bluffs is now closed. Please remind your scout to take care near the ocean, we don't want this to be a swimming event!  We must be off the beach by 1 hour after sunset.  Please note cellular service is spotty at this location.  If you have any musical talent and want to lead a campfire song or play your guitar, let the Cubmaster know!
