About the Visit
Scouts will tour the submarine, sleep aboard in real bunks, and clean up the following morning. Space is at a premium aboard any submarine, be prepared to share the sleeping area with fellow scouts, and pack lightly. There are important considerations including limited access to bathroom facilities (one is available ashore) and close quarters requiring extra consideration. There is no parking on site, families will either need to carpool and park in a local overnight garage at own expense, or take the ferry (recommended). Check for emails from your trip leader (Ted Lee) and den leaders for all the deets. Cost of the overnight will be approximately $125, plus a modest amount for an event patch and snacks. Please arrive pierside by 6:30pm HAVING EATEN DINNER BEFOREHAND. Light out by 11pm, Reveille the next morning at 7am, clean up and offload at 7:30am, group photo and raising of ships colors at 8am.
What to Bring
Scouts should attend in full uniform including sturdy closed-toe shoes. Bring a backpack or duffel labeled with their name, containing sleeping bag, pillow, a change of clothes, a warm jacket and hat, toothbrush and toiletries, hand towel, water bottle, and flashlight. Please do not bring knives, food/gum/nuts/candy, matches, or electronic devices such as tablets or game devices.
